Meet the talented artists opening their studio doors for Open Studios Kaipātiki 2026. From painters, potters and printmakers to photographers, jewellers and textile artists, discover the people behind the work, explore their creative processes and plan who you’d like to visit over the weekend.
Open Studios Kaipātiki takes place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November, from 10am–4pm. It’s free to explore, with no bookings required.
Eco Womble Art Studio
Sharron Woodward, also known as Eco Womble, is a mixed media artist with a passion for upcycling and transforming everyday objects into art. Her work has been exhibited throughout Auckland, with one of her miniature creations acquired by Auckland Museum for its COVID exhibition.
For Open Studios Kaipātiki, Sharron will bring her creations together in one space for the first time. Visitors can enjoy demonstrations, explore artworks available to purchase or order, and get creative in a dedicated hands-on area for adults and children.
Quiet Acts | Rebecca Owen at NORTHART
Through cloth, stitch, and the slow rhythm of making, Quiet Acts brings together a small collection of quilts and garments that honour the long, often unseen history of women’s work.
Darryl Fagence | Fagence Art
Darryl started his career of over 40 yrs with glass by designing and creating stained glass lampshades, windows and doors. From there he moved onto making his own kiln and firing bowls and lampshades.
Sally Fagence | Fagence Art
Sally paints new life into each piece making it a unique artwork using the grains of the oak wood quite often to dictate the final outcome. She also uses redundant wooden planes and other wooden objects and occasionally canvases always painting in oils and using gold or silver leaf.
