Artist registrations are now open for Open Studios Kaipātiki 2026.

We’re inviting artists, designers, makers, creative groups, galleries and studios from across the Kaipātiki Local Board area to open their doors for a weekend of creativity and connection.

This is an opportunity to welcome people into your creative world, share how you work, introduce your practice to new audiences and be part of a growing celebration of the arts in Kaipātiki. There is no cost to participate.

Are you in the event area?

Open Studios Kaipātiki covers the entire Kaipātiki Local Board area, including Bayview, Beach Haven, Birkdale, Birkenhead, Chatswood, Glenfield, Hillcrest, Marlborough, Northcote, Northcote Point, Sunnybrae, Totara Vale, Wairau Valley and Windy Ridge.

If you live or work in the area and have a suitable studio or creative space you can open to visitors, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll receive

Participating artists will receive:

• A listing in the printed event brochure and studio map, distributed throughout Kaipātiki

• A dedicated artist page on the Open Studios Kaipātiki website

• Roadside and wayfinding signage for the event weekend

• Promotion through our social media channels and email newsletters

• Support from a professional PR and media campaign

• Inclusion in the self-guided digital art trail

• Access to artist resources, marketing tools and promotional assets

Participation is completely free.

What we ask of you

Open Studios Kaipātiki is about inviting visitors into the places where creativity happens. People come to meet artists, learn about their processes and experience the stories behind the finished work.

We ask that participating artists:

• Open their studio or creative space during the event weekend

• Are available to welcome and talk with visitors

• Share something of their creative process, practice or techniques

• Present their space and work professionally

• Display the event signage provided

• Help promote the weekend through their own networks

Your studio does not need to be traditional or purpose-built. It simply needs to be a safe and suitable space where visitors can experience your work and gain an insight into your creative practice.

Applicants notified by: Thursday 10 September 2026
Maps and brochures distributed: By the end of October
Event weekend: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2026, 10am–4pm
